Adventure Awaits: Your Guide to Colorado This Season
By Ryan Green, Marketing Director, Yoder Chevrolet | Updated August 2026
Colorado’s Front Range doesn’t take a break as summer turns toward fall, and neither do the deals at Yoder Chevrolet. Whether your idea of adventure is a weekend up in the mountains or just finding a smarter way to get around Fort Lupton, there’s a Chevy built for it.
Quick Answer
Fort Lupton sits within day-trip range of Rocky Mountain National Park, Golden Gate Canyon, Red Rocks, and the Peak to Peak Highway.
This guide covers hiking, scenic drives, camping, and live music near Fort Lupton, including which destinations now require a 2026 reservation.
Before You Go: 2026 Permits
Rocky Mountain National Park requires a timed entry reservation from May 22 through October 18, 2026. Standard Timed Entry covers the park from 9 AM to 2 PM. Bear Lake Road, which includes the Bear Lake and Emerald Lake trailheads, needs the separate Timed Entry+ Bear Lake Road permit, in effect 5 AM to 6 PM. Both are booked on Recreation.gov, and same-day availability is released at 7 PM the night before.
Mount Blue Sky reopened for the 2026 season after being closed since September 2024. The summit road now requires a reservation and runs 7 AM to 6 PM.

Your Late-Summer & Early-Fall Colorado Adventure Guide
Fort Lupton sits close enough to the Front Range that the mountains, the canyons, and a few of the best outdoor concert venues in the country are all well within a tank of gas. Here’s where we’d point you between now and the leaves turning.
Why Yoder
Good Folks. Great Prices.
Less than 30 minutes for most Front Range drivers. No pressure on the lot. The price on the window is the price you pay. It’s just how a family-owned dealership operates.
Weld County & the I-76 Corridor
Fort Lupton: Right Where the Plains Meet the Mountains
Fort Lupton sits on the I-76 corridor between Denver and Greeley, close to Weld County’s ranch and ag country and roughly 45 minutes from the I-70 mountain corridor at Golden. Locals headed to the high country load up at Yoder before the drive; locals headed nowhere in particular still need a truck that can handle the eastern plains gravel roads on a Tuesday. Either way, the dealership is built for both jobs, not just the highway commute.
What Neighbors Are Saying
Yoder Chevrolet holds a 4.5-star average across 688 Google reviews as of August 2026. A few recent ones:
“The whole deal, from walking on the lot, test drive, and paperwork took less than 3 hours. Gerry was amazing salesman, no rush, no pressure.”
“We didn’t get the vehicle we originally went to look at, but the sales team was great at showing us other vehicles that were similar. And this was around closing time on a Saturday.”
“This shop has become my go to place for service on all my vehicles. The professionalism from the service staff and the mechanics is definitely top notch.”

Common Questions
▶ Do I need a reservation to visit Rocky Mountain National Park this fall?
Yes. Timed entry reservations are required from May 22 through October 18, 2026. Standard Timed Entry covers the park between 9 AM and 2 PM. If you want Bear Lake Road, which includes the Bear Lake and Emerald Lake trailheads, you need the separate Timed Entry+ Bear Lake Road permit, in effect 5 AM to 6 PM. Reserve on Recreation.gov.
▶ Is the Mount Blue Sky Scenic Byway open in 2026?
Yes. The summit road reopened for the 2026 season after being closed since September 2024 for construction. A reservation is required to drive the upper portion, and the road operates from 7 AM to 6 PM. Book before you go, because same-day availability isn’t guaranteed.
▶ What vehicle is best for a weekend camping trip from Fort Lupton?
It depends on where you’re headed. A Colorado or Silverado 1500 handles gear and a rougher forest road easily, while an Equinox or Traverse covers most car-camping sites at places like Golden Gate Canyon State Park without trouble.
▶ What’s the best mountain drive within a couple hours of Fort Lupton?
The Peak to Peak Highway is a strong pick, stringing together Nederland, Ward, and Estes Park with switchbacks and overlooks worth the drive on their own. It also requires no permit, which makes it the easiest option for a spontaneous Saturday.
▶ How far is Yoder Chevrolet from Greeley, Brighton, or Firestone?
About 20 minutes south of Greeley, 20 minutes north of Brighton, and 25 minutes from Firestone and Frederick. Most Front Range drivers are under 30 minutes away.
▶ Does Yoder Chevrolet have a Corvette showroom?
Yes. Yoder Chevrolet has a dedicated, climate-controlled indoor Corvette Center that holds up to 30 Corvettes, with Corvette-trained technicians on staff for sales and service.
▶ How do I get in touch or visit Yoder Chevrolet?
Yoder Chevrolet is at 601 Denver Ave in Fort Lupton. Call (303) 900-5870 for sales or (303) 900-6145 for service, or stop by during sales hours, 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday and 9 AM to 5 PM Saturday.
